IBJJF NEWS

The IBJJF is incorporating an International Ranking System which will see only qualified competitors enter the World Championships. The Pan Pacific Championship has been granted qualification status. This is great news for Australian Jiu Jitsu.

As a consequence the Pan Pacs will be 100% supported by and advertised on the IBJJF website. This will ensure many more International competitors travel to the Pan Pacs each year.

Any athletes planning on competing at the 2010 World Championships should contact us ASAP to obtain a registered I.D. which will be necessary to enter.

MAJOR ADVANCES UNDER WAY

The AFBJJ Inc. is now well on its way in establishing a truly National Sport. State Directors have now been appointed for South Australia, Western Australia, Tasmania, Queensland and Victoria. Under the new structure all States will conduct a Certified State Championship annually, under the guidance of the National Authority (AFBJJ Inc.). This structure will further enhance the already very successful Australian Champions Cup, which travels to a different Capital city each year and attracts medallists from around the country to produce the highest quality National event. The Aus Cup champions are considered the best Jiu Jitsu fighters in Australia. The 2009 Aus Cup is in Adelaide and already is shaping up to be a great event (details will be under the "EVENTS" tab very soon).

Currently the AFBJJ Inc. is looking for State Directors in the ACT, NT and NSW. Anyone who is interested in representing the AFBJJ Inc. in these States should contact the AFBJJ Inc. at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
